McKinley School Salad Bar
The students at McKinley Elementary have a choice of eating from the salad bar, which is supplied with food from the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market. The students also have a large, well tended garden on their campus where they grow vegetables. One of their favorite garden projects is preparing food picked in the garden, such as lettuce wraps.
The Santa Monica School District was the first in the country to participate in the USDA Farm to School Program.
